3 The Key

Finally the book you have been waiting for! Things come to a tense climax in this last book, narrated by Matt and Rochelle. As Lathenia prepares to unleash her great and terrible power, the Guard becomes more confused as to who is the real traitor in their midst.

Demons appear in this book. If you have been following the whole trilogy, this is not a surprise. Matt breaks a promise. There is a kind of heaven, except not. Otherwise not much has changed.

The traitor wrecks havoc in the loyalties of in the Guard, but friendships stay strong, and in the end everyone (except the traitor) is willing to give everything to save the world. Matt is trying to be the leader that he needs to be, but he isn't arrogant in his new power.

I really like this last book in the Guardians of Time trilogy. It's nice to hear from Rochelle, who through out the books you have always wanted to hear from. The ultimate sacrifice is made.

2 The Dark

A year later, Ethan is teaching Matt, who seems to have no powers whatsoever. Isabel longs to go on a mission of her own, but with Arkarian is fine. Just fine. But when something terrible happens, what can Isabel do but what she knows to be right? Even if it could mean expulsion from the Guard.

Isabel is loyal to her friends, to the point of no return (hehe). Ethan is willing to go with Isabel where ever she needs to go, their friendship remains as strong as anything. Matt, though uncomfortable in his role in the Guard, will go with his sister. OK?!?

This book does a good job for the book that no one really wants to read. How many of you would rather skip this book and find out what happens in the end? Me! But it keeps your attention and interest to the very last.

1 The Named

The Guard are here to protect our past. And in doing so, our future. They travel through the past and make sure that things happen they way they should. That means that some one is trying to make things happen differently? BINGO! The leader of the Guard is brother to the leader of the Order. The Order is trying to plunge our planet into chaos and thus the evil Order's leader will be happy. But things are about to change.

The tribunal of the Guard is made up of immortals after a Greek fashion. There is an underworld and something beyond that. There are 'soul mates' (only one person out there for you, ever), I'm not sure if this is fine or bad.

The friends would do anything for each other. Ethan is my favorite in this trilogy, he is dedicated, kind and wise. Isabel is a sweet girl, she cares a lot about people. Arkarian is just and good.

Other then the strong Greek religious ties, these books are good, with strong characters many of you should relate to. But be warned, start this series and you will most likely have to finish it.
