5 The Lost Colony

Bodyguards must have a lot of nightmares, and a lot of bad ones because this book finds Butler confronting quite a few of his worse nightmares. Artemis is bored. He goes from saving the world to school in a few days and he misses the excitement. So when he finds a way to hack into the fairy system he takes it. And what does he find but a mistake in Foaly's calculations. Artemis is expecting the eighth family of fairies to be dropping out of time and on to earth as the spell that kept them away for so long unravels. But strangely enough Artemis, for the first time in his life is not the only one to know this. A young girl who wants the Nobel prize is also tracking these mystical creatures' appearances.

This book really has nothing new in the negative elements other than a pointless and rather disappointing short dialog of Mulch's bodily functions. The eighth family are demons, this is not as bad as it might sound. The demons are like the fairies, that is simply their name. There is nothing Satanic about these demons.

Oh the positive elements of the this book are soooooo fun to write. Artemis putting his life in danger selflessly and fully. Holly valiantly doing what is right and Butler sacrificing what is dearest to him. Everybody shines at their brightest in this book.

This book is the best Artemis Fowl yet! I didn't even know how it would end, and when you read more of my reviews you will realize that that doesn't happen very often! This book pulls together your favorite parts of Artemis Fowl and adds to them. If the last lines don't make you laugh, is there any hope for you?
